Organiser's CommentsI hope you all enjoyed your run at Ashridge. This is one of our best and most runnable areas although some of you may have discovered that the bracken is more profuse in October than at our winter events. It also helps that it is possible to have start, finish, registration, parking and toilets in close proximity. It's a near impossible task forecasting numbers at this type of event ; we got it roughly right although we did have to 'recycle' some maps on the Green course. Thanks to those of you who gave up maps at the finish; fresh maps are being sent to you. If you would still like copies and didn't leave your name then please contact the planner, . The event also included .the regional round of the Yvette Baker Trophy for junior competitors. Congratulations to a very strong Southdowns team who made a long trip north of the river and recorded a closely contested away win on Happy Herts territory. It was a pity that these were the only two junior teams taking part and raises a few questions about the nature of the competition. As ever my thanks to members of Happy Herts who all volunteered and helped the event to run smoothly' Lost property. One thumb compass.
