Organiser/Planner commentsThe event was arranged at fairly short notice to support the opening of the Estate. Having listened to your comments on completing the courses, we feel that there is sufficient variety in quite a small area to make it a regular Saturday Series venue. Several weekend visits to finalise the planning had lulled us into believing that all the open areas were fast and runnable so that on the day the depth of the jungle in places came as quite a surprise. We hope that the paths we cut through the foliage and the additional route markers on the colour coded courses went some way to easing the problem. On the score course the position of control 4 caused some lively debate. It may have been just one tree too far north but was certainly on the east side of the line of vegetation as listed. We regret any difficulties this may have caused. On the day the weather was perfect, as were the legion of HH stalwarts who make it look so easy - our grateful thanks to them all. Thanks also to Hertfordshire Countryside Management (particularly Lee Tyson) for inviting HH to use the area and to Three Rivers Council for making a real event of the day and an excellent buffet that totally undermined the inadvertant reference to "Healthy" Herts Orienteering Club in the Chair of Council's opening address; and to all runners whose participation makes it all worthwhile.
