Verulamium Park Night Event ( SENiLe ) Results 29/03/03.Next HH Event - Rothamsted Park Local Event, Harpenden, 05/04/03. Results are available both with splits and without splits. Organiser's CommentsIt must be at least 5 years since HH last put on a Night O event. This lapse has been largely due to the lack of suitable land permission, but also due to the departure of a core of devotees. I therefore hope this event has renewed interest in Night 'O' and will herald the return of regular night events in our area. Moving on from our successful Saturday series of local events, this event was partially aimed at trying to attract newcomers to the very different skill of Night 'O'. It is pleasing to note that this target was met, with a significant number of newcomers coming to give it a try. With luck they will join the devotees next season, when Happy Herts aim to establish a Night 'O' series north of London. I hope those hardened souls who braved some of the wilder terrain used for other SENiLe events in the depths of last Winter were not disappointed by the easy terrain of Verulamium and still found sufficient challenge in Duncan's excellent courses. Particular congratulations to Peter Chapman for his success in beating Duncan on his own course on leg 12. Finally many thanks to my super efficient team of helpers, who even persuaded me leave them to it and enjoy a run to complete my set of 2002/3 SENiLe events. Roger Moulding |
