| Thank You Letter
Harry and Eric were too modest to pass this on to me - it came to Pacemaker from a 'mole' in one of their households. It illustrates that all the hard work being put into the Saturday events is appreciated by some beginners, and that we aren't such a miserable bunch at events! Mr Goldingay, Just a quick note from an absolute novice and his son who really enjoyed competing in the race today. My son bought home a flyer from his school last week about orienteering and asked if he could go... A little unsure of the format and lay of the land [metaphorically speaking at this time] I rang Mr Brown who was most helpful and encouraging. So off we set with James and his friend into the unknown..... With wellies and jumpers on we arrived at the school to be met with the Lycra, running shoes and all the gear, oh dear I thought. Well, I have to say despite my initial impressions, everyone, and I mean everyone, we met today were so friendly and helpful. Even down to the roaring cheer as the two boys faked their sprint finish! All day the two boys have been chattering about the race and are both very eager to do it again. I, as a competing triathlete have also found a purpose to all the running, at last an event to think and run at the same time, although perhaps without the Wellingtons on next time! The reason really for this note is to say a thank you to everyone for giving my boys enthusiasm for exercise and for all being so pleasant. I hope to see you all again at Ashridge or St Albans.
