Joining the Hertfordshire Orienteering Club, familiarly known as Happy Herts, gives you a range of benefits :

  • Flyers detailing forthcoming club events.
  • Latest newsletter and club magazine.
  • Membership list.
  • Keys to orienteering map symbols and pictorial control descriptions.
  • Basic Technique Tips.
• Subsidised runs at our monthly Saturday Series events.
• Subsidised club training events.
• Three issues per year of the club magazine Pacemaker.
• Regular, generally bimonthly, newsletters.
• A variety of social events including an annual club dinner with speaker and club gatherings at major events.

All club members are also members of the South East Orienteering Association and may be either National or Local members of British Orienteering. Most clubs will give a discount to members of £2 for seniors on their entry fee to events. For National British Orienteering Membership this applies to all events in the UK; for Local British Orienteering Membership this applies to events in the South East.

The subscriptions for 2012 are as follows:

* If you are new to Orienteering then Local British Orienteering and SEOA membership is free until December 2012 – the normal fee is shown in brackets.

These figures will be discounted by £1 if payment is made to British Orienteering by direct debit.

Additionally we have a group membership category which is aimed at schools and youth groups, eg Scouts. This costs £20 per year. For the benefits of this membership please contact us using the details below.

Family and Group members receive only one copy of club mailings, but otherwise receive the same benefits as individual members.
